Roadmap

Web Macro Portal serves as a bridge between mobile app, desktop app and cloud server. You can save your macros into your account and access them from different devices. The portal has features to customize and run macros. Users can join the community and exchange public macros via macro gallery. The web portal allows easy administration and clear details of the results.

Web Marco Server runs as a headless browser in the cloud. For end users it is like a normal browser, with the same features, but you do not visualize the web pages directly. After you record and test the macro, you can seamlessly load it into the cloud. Your macro can run very efficiently on the server and perform your recorded tasks. Compared to manually running macros on your phone or PC, the server is more reliable and efficient in execution and energy consumption.

Access to the scripts from multiple devices and the ease of execution are a good start for users without coding skills. Existing macros can be imported from other branded apps. Detected commands from the Selenium project are added, unrecognized commands are displayed as annotations.

History

Website and webpage automation exist for a very long time. There are a number of ways to achieve humanly browser operations. These automation methods have be widely used in web development and testing. For example, search engine performs automatic website crawling to fetch latest page content.

There are a few limitations of existing tool sets for non-technical users to do day to day tasks. Most tools are based on desktop browsers, you have to create tasks scripts. The user interface is complicated and usually designed for bigger screen, you need good understanding for traditional software process and concept. The costing structure of these platform is dated, they require fair bit upfront payment. Mobile device support is minimal due to browser plugins are not supported on mobile platforms.
